4-H Youth Development

Washoe County 4-H Community Programs

4-H coordinates on-site education programs with Washoe County School District (WCSD). These programs provide educational and lifestyle assistance. Unlike other 4-H clubs, these are non-enrollment programs taught to students at WCSD schools.

Team UP AfterSchool Programs

The Washoe County 4-H Youth Development Programs include Team UP AfterSchool in conjunction with the Washoe County School District. These multi-week lessons, which focus on experiential learning about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), are taught onsite at schools and for interested youth. Each lesson is from researched and proven curriculum designed to engage youth. They can learn about rocketry, earth sciences, embryology, leadership and more. The AfterSchool program has also been in partnership with Reno Housing Authority for over 20 years to bring lessons like these, health snacks and homework help to youth in the government housing.
