Chefs for Kids, Inc. is a joint venture of the American Culinary Federation Chefs of Las Vegas and University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. The Chefs for Kids program works to eliminate malnutrition and hunger through education and awareness. The nutrition education program is taught to high-needs first and second grade students in Clark County.
Often in a society where television and computers bring information to our doorstep, we assume that simple facts like knowing that a pear grows on a tree or that a balanced diet is essential to good health throughout a lifetime are well-known by everyone. Surprisingly, many children lack the essential nutritional knowledge necessary to improve poor eating habits. In addition to the educational program, the chefs provide monthly breakfasts and healthy snack programs to participating schools.
Tickets for the event are $175 per person. Tables of ten are $1,750. To purchase tickets or for more information about this black tie optional event, please call 702-257-5548.
