2007 Nevada State 4-H shooting sports leader training & certification
A 4-H shooting sports leader training and certification will take place April 20-22 at the Tonopah Senior Center. Registration for the event must be received by Tuesday, April 10. Upon completion of volunteer leader training and certification, individuals must pass the state written exam to become county instructors.
County instructors can lead youth in a 4-H shooting sports project club and train assistant instructors; however, they can only provide training and instruction for those disciplines in which they have been certified. Minimum age for all county instructors is 21 years, except for junior instructors, who must be at least 14.
There is a $125 registration fee that will cover training, shooting materials, training manual materials and dinner on Friday, breakfast on Saturday and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a 10-person limit per discipline to ensure quality instruction. Minimum participation will be required for each discipline. Attendees must register no later than Tuesday, April 10 by mailing the registration form and a registration fee check made out to "Board of Regents." Assumption of risk forms must also be submitted. Please contact the local county office for this form. All materials may be sent to the attendee's local county 4-H office. Registration forms may be found online.
The Nevada 4-H program uses shooting sports as a vehicle for developing important life-skills in youth. The overall goal is to develop these skills while helping 4-H'ers become responsible and productive members of society.
For questions or more information, please contact your local 4-H county office.
