There’s a new gardening series in town — In the Garden — beginning in Sept. University-trained Master Gardener volunteers begin the series in the herb demonstration garden. Other demonstration garden areas—roses, Milkweeds, trees are also planned.

The Herb Gardeners welcome guests on Wed., Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. Master Gardeners will discuss which herbs to plant and which to harvest in the fall.

The demonstrations will be held at the Lifelong Learning Center located at 8050 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nev. When you arrive, check with the Master Gardener Help Desk to learn whether they will be working in the formal Courtyard Herb Garden or the Herb Farm. Both located at the Paradise facility.

The Demonstration and Test Gardens span 3 acres surrounding the Lifelong Learning Center and are home to over 1,000 species of native and desert-appropriate plants. Visitors learn about what works and what doesn’t work in our Mojave Desert climate. The Gardens are open to the public for self-guided tours Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Master Gardeners also lead weekly tours of the Gardens on Fridays at 10 a.m. For more information email or call the Master Gardener Help Desk at 702-257-5555.
