Nevada Naturalist lecture series continues
The 2015 Nevada Naturalist Series continues on Thursday, Nov. 12 with a presentation by Nancy Bernard, volunteer program manager for the Lake Mead Recreation Area. Bernard’s discussion, which begins at 7 p.m., focuses on the volunteer program and way the community is engaged a stewards to protect this recreation area.
Every year, thousands of individuals contribute their enthusiasm and skills to help the National Park Service preserve and protect the natural and cultural resources and to serve and educate visitors. Lake Mead’s Volunteers-In-Parks (VIPs) are Very Important People! They contribute their time and energy to help us protect the magnificent natural and cultural areas entrusted to us. Volunteers help in almost every area of the park, from maintaining campgrounds to leading guided hikes.
This free event will be held at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Lifelong Learning Center, 8050 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nev. For more information, email or call Denise Parsons at 702-940-5906.
