University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and the South Valley Rose Society are collaborating and offering educational meetings throughout the fall. Free and open to the public, the Oct. 22 meeting topic is Growing Roses in Containers.

Join Christina Ropter, Consulting Rosarian, as she explains how growing roses in containers/pots is very popular especially in small areas. These containers and pots also enhance a garden bed. Discover the roses that grow best in containers/pots and what to look for: size of pots, material, potting soil, watering methods and placement location.

All educational meetings are held at 7 p.m. at the Lifelong Learning Center located at 8050 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nev. (I-215 and Windmill Lane). For more information, please email or call the Master Gardener Help Desk at 702-257-5555.
