Smart, healthy, active and ready for Kindergarten

3-Program Series geared towards Parents and Children 3-5 years of age

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is offering a series of parent-child classes designed to educate you and your child (3-5 years old) through fun, creative lessons while preparing your child for kindergarten. Children will learn the importance of cooperation, creativity, reading skills, fun ways to be active and eating healthy while making new friends.

The 3-program series will begin with All 4 Kids on Monday, March 17 at 11:00 at Cambridge Community Center 3900 Cambridge Street, LV 89119. The program series includes All 4 Kids, Family Storyteller and Little Books and Little Cooks.

All 4 Kids — A 12 week fun and interactive program, encourages preschool children to be Healthy, Happy, Active and Fit. Parents and preschoolers work together in activities that promote physical activity, healthy eating and living healthy at any shape or size. All 4 Kids takes place each Monday and Wednesday.

Family Storyteller - A six week program aimed at encouraging and training parents to play a vital role in the early literacy development of their children. Each class, beginning April 7, parents and their children participate in reading and language activities together.

Little Books and Little Cooks — A seven week program designed to promote healthy eating, family literacy, positive parent-child interaction and the child’s school readiness skills. During each class, beginning June 25, children and parents come together to learn about nutrition, read children’s books and then cook and eat together.
