So. Valley Rose Society Meeting Set

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and the South Valley Rose Society are collaborating and offering educational meetings throughout the winter/spring. Free and open to the public, January’s meeting topic is:

January 23, Winter Rose Pruning and Forcing Dormancy-Marie Kaplan, Master Gardener and Consulting Rosarian

Winter pruning tips for different rose varieties: Hybrid tea, Floribunda, Shrubs, Miniatures, Tree, Climbers and Old Garden Roses. How do you discard the canes and leaves? What tools are used for pruning: pruners, saws, loppers, etc.? How does one care for the tools and where can they be purchased.

All educational meetings are held at 7 p.m. at the Lifelong Learning Center located at 8050 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, 89123. For more information, please email or call the Master Gardener Help Desk at 702-257-5555.
