The Stronger Economies Together (SET) Regional Team will meet Nov. 28 in Fallon to celebrate the completion of its planning process, unveil the SET Regional Team Blueprint for economic development across the nine-county region, and begin implementing the plan.
SET Partners, Regional Team members, county and city officials, chamber of commerce members and the general public are invited to attend and learn about the goals for targeted economic development in the region. The SET area encompasses the Western Nevada Development District of Carson, Churchill, Douglas, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Pershing, Mineral, Storey and Washoe counties.
The SET Blueprint contains goals to build the region’s capacity to pursue economic development in four areas: access to capital, communication and network development, infrastructure investment and workforce development. It also contains goals and strategies related to five economic sectors with high potential: agribusiness, energy, transportation and logistics, manufacturing and tourism.
The SET Team plans to continue to meet on a quarterly basis to work together to support economic development in the region and to network for mutual benefit.
The SET meeting will be held from 10 a.m. — 3 p.m. Nov. 28 in the Oats Park Community Center, located at 151 E. Park Street in Fallon. Lunch is included.
