So You Want To Be A Produce Farmer? Workshop

Cooperative Extension (UNCE) invites Nevada backyard gardeners to small-acreage commercial planters to “So You Want To Be A Produce Farmer” workshop on June 25 and 26 at University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Lifelong Learning Center in Las Vegas.

The two-day workshop agenda is packed with great information from How to Get a Farm Going to Running Farmers Markets. There really is something for everyone who loves to grow and/or eat produce! The program will be available live via interactive video to UNCE offices in Elko, Churchill and Lyon counties.

The workshop is part of UNCE’s Herds and Harvest program, a three-year agricultural initiative providing Nevada’s beginning farmers and ranchers with the tools necessary to own, operate and sustain their own agricultural operation.

Individuals with no agricultural experience, those involved in agriculture for less than 10 years and those expanding their operations qualify for this and all other Herds and Harvest programming.

Preregistration for the two-day event is $50 per ranch (for up to three people) and includes lunch and refreshments both days. One day registration cost is $30 per group of three. Registration on the day of the event is $60.
