Grow Your Own gardening workshops offered
The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is offering a Grow Your Own! program, a back-to-basics guide to great harvests in Nevada. The classes will be held via video conference on Tuesday evenings beginning Sept. 20 through Nov. 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Humboldt County Extension Office, 1085 Fairgrounds Road, Winnemucca, Nevada.
The classes are: Sept. 20 — Getting Started; Sept. 27 — Basic Soils, Watering and Fertilizing; Oct. 4 — Controlling Pests; Oct. 18 — Season Extension; Oct. 25 — Growing and Composting in Small Places; Nov. 1 — Growing Fruits and Berries, and Nov. 8 — Harvesting, Preserving and Winterizing.
The cost for the entire seven-class program is $40. Participants can also register for individual classes at $10 per class. There is no deadline for registration but seating is limited to the first 14 participants to register for each class.
