Humboldt County 4-H Dog Show to be held

Posted 7/9/2009

The Humboldt County 4-H Power Paws dog club will hold their dog show on July 27 and 28 at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds on the lawn in front of the exhibit hall.

The public is invited to come and watch the show which starts at 4:30 p.m. each day.

The 4-H Power Paws club has been meeting weekly since early February to prepare themselves and their canines for the upcoming shows for 2009. The club traveled to Fernley in May to compete at a 4-H dog show hosted by the Fernley 4-H dog club. The May show was a first for many in the club and they came away with new knowledge, skills, new-found confidence and lots of ribbons as proof of their hard work and training.

This year’s local 4-H dog show will feature classes in showmanship, obedience, agility and rally. A Cloverbud class for youth 5 to 8 years old has been added to the lineup for this year.

Come out and experience the 4-H dog show firsthand and support the youth and their canines in this hands-on event.
