Posted 5/12/2009

Event a chance to purchase a variety of annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs

If you’re getting ready to plant your garden or spruce up your landscape, you won’t want to miss the Master Gardener Plant Faire Extravaganza from 7 — 11:30 a.m. May 16 at University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Cliff Fouts Demonstration Garden, 5305 Mill St., Reno.

There will be more than 3,000 "Master Gardener-grown" plants for sale, including such hard-to-find items as heirloom tomato plants. Master Gardeners have been hard at work growing a large variety of annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs and ornamental grasses for this annual fundraising event.

Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer all of your gardening questions. This is the 11th annual Master Gardener Plant Faire, and all plant sales will benefit the Master Gardener program and its community projects in northern Nevada.

The Master Gardener program of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension trains local gardeners and works with them to disseminate safe, effective gardening information to their communities.
