Humboldt County 4-H Program to host open house
The Humboldt County 4-H Program will host an Open House on April 23, 2009 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Extension Office in Winnemucca. Come spend an evening with 4-H! Explore the world of hands-on learning and find out what the 4-H Program has to offer.
Various 4-H Clubs will be on hand to answer questions and to provide helpful information to the public. There will be 4-H club displays and interactive, hands-on activities for youth to try out.
There are currently many projects underway such as cooking, quilting, dog care/training, photography, gardening, rabbits, poultry and livestock. Possible projects in the works for the summer are a science club, leathercraft, sewing, ATV safety day camp, weeds/entomology, shooting sports, outdoor camping and GPS/GIS. All new clubs will be contingent upon finding volunteers to lead some of these new projects.
All members of the community are encouraged to stop by and check out what 4-H is all about and what the program has to offer the youth of our community.
