Conservation trees and shrubs available
The Humboldt County 4-H Small Animal Committee is teaming up with the Nevada Division of Forestry to bring northeastern Nevadans a wide selection of conservation plant material at a reasonable cost. Plants available include evergreens, conifers, and deciduous trees and shrubs.
All plant materials are from the Nevada Division of Forestry Nursery in Washoe Valley and are selected for adaptability to northern Nevada’s soil and climate.
You must purchase at least five of any species. Most of the seedlings arrive in black 2.5-inch by 10-inch cells and cost $3 per plant. The hybrid poplar and blue spruce are $4 per plant and come in a T-pot.
Order forms are available at the Humboldt County Extension Office, 1085 Fairgrounds Road and will be taken until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009.
The estimated dates and times the plants will be ready for pickup is Friday, May 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 9, from 8 to 10 a.m. Plants can picked up at the 4-H Pavilion at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds, 1085 Fairgrounds Road, Winnemucca.
