Free Women’s Conference on Heart Disease

The Loving Your Heart Conference - A women’s conference on heart disease will be held on Saturday, April 25 at University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Lifelong Learning Center from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a no-fee conference with lunch provided; but you must pre-register to attend.

Rikki Cheese will once again be the Mistress of Ceremony and Dr. James Mock, a local cardiologist, will kick-off the event with his keynote speech on The #1 Killer of Women: Heart Disease.

There will be interactive workshops with demonstrations on nutrition and stress. You can also participate in exercise and yoga classes, and have a blood pressure and cardiac assessment. Dress comfortably, in exercise or athletic attire.

Along with University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, collaborators include: Southern Nevada Coalition of Concerned Women, the Southern Nevada Black Nurses Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Center at UNLV, Links, Inc., St. Rose Dominican Hospitals and the Southern Nevada Health District.
