Sharon Barton joins the Humboldt County Extension Office
Sharon Barton, a nine-year resident of Humboldt County, was selected as the new Volunteer and Events Specialist in charge of the Humboldt County 4-H program. She replaces Cheryl Towne, who recently retired.
Sharon has been actively involved in the 4-H program for many years, first in Idaho and continuing in Nevada after she and her husband moved back to the state with their children. Sharon enjoys an active country life and counts cooking, camping, gardening, fishing, photography, reading and blogging among her many interests.
Sharon’s children have grown up participating in the 4-H program and she has been directly involved in 4-H as a parent volunteer, co-leader, leader, judge, committee member and officer for many years. She knows first hand, from years of volunteer experience, about the dedication and commitment it takes for the participants, parents, and leaders to work together to make each group and event in the 4-H program successful.
Sharon is very excited about her new position with the 4-H program in Humboldt County and is looking forward to working with the families, volunteers and local communities throughout the county to further the success of the program.
