Conservation trees and shrubs available
Once again the Humboldt County 4-H Small Animal Committee is teaming up with the Nevada Division of Forestry to bring northeastern Nevadans a wide selection of conservation plant material at a reasonable cost. Plants available include evergreens, conifers, and deciduous trees and shrubs.
All plant materials are from the Nevada Division of Forestry Nursery in Washoe Valley and are selected for adaptability to northern Nevada’s soil and climate.
The cost of the plants and trees is $2.50 per plant and you must purchase at least five of any species. Most of the seedlings arrive in black 2.5-inch by 10-inch cells.
Order forms are available at the Humboldt County Extension Office, 1085 Fairgrounds Road, Winnemucca and will be taken until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2008.
The estimated dates and times the plants will be ready for pickup is Friday, May 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 3, from 8 to 10 a.m. Plants can be picked up at the 4-H Pavilion at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds.
