Free Community Health Planning Day scheduled

LAS VEGAS-A FREE community health planning day is scheduled for Saturday, February 23, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is your chance to visit dozens of community agencies at one location to have your blood pressure tested, your eyesight checked, your body mass index formulated, and more. There will be breakout seminars on living wills and other health issues. There will be hands-on activities all day long for children.

Sponsors of the event are University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE), the Nevada Center for Ethics and Health Policy, Nathan Adelson Hospice and Touro University.

The event is taking place at Cooperative Extension’s Lifelong Learning Center located at 8050 S. Maryland Parkway (I-215 and Windmill Lane).

Other participating organization include: the Senior Law Project, the Nevada Black Nurses Association, Wal-Mart Eye/Vision Center, Las Vegas Metropolitan Policy Department and many more.

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is an outreach arm of the University that extends unbiased, research-based knowledge from University of Nevada-and other land-grant universities-to local communities.
