Free gardening information
LAS VEGAS—University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will offer free gardening information and publications at several upcoming community events. Visit the Master Gardeners at:
- Henderson’s Trails Day on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Equestrian Park located in Henderson.
- Nevada Day at Red Rock Visitor’s Center on Friday, October 26 starting at 9 a.m.
- Nevada Garden Club Flower Show at Lorenzi Park on Saturday, October 27 from 12 -4 and Sunday, October 28 from Noon-4:30 p.m.
For answers to your desert gardening questions at other times, call the Master Gardener Home Gardening Help Line at 257-5555. The Help Line is staffed weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Master Gardeners are University-trained volunteers who have completed an intensive horticultural program in sustainable desert gardening. They share their knowledge of proper plant selection and care, disease and pest management, and water conservation at community events throughout the area.
