Four free gardening classes

Posted 9/20/2007

Fall in Southern Nevada is the perfect time to get your garden in shape! The Master Gardeners of Southern Nevada will offer four free gardening classes on Wednesdays beginning October 3 from 7-8 p.m. Classes will be transmitted via interactive video conference from Las Vegas to the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) Education Building at 1897 N. Moapa Valley Boulevard in Logandale.

During the month, learn how to winterize your garden on October 3, design a desert landscape on October 10, care for your interior plants on October 17, and get tips on how to hire a landscaper on October 24. You can register for all four classes, or pick the session(s) you are most interested in attending. To reserve a space, call the Cooperative Extension office at 397-2604 or 346-7215. Everyone must pre-register so that space requirements can be taken into consideration and a sufficient number of handouts will be available.

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is an outreach arm of the University that extends unbiased, research-based knowledge from the University of Nevada-and other land-grant universities-to local communities. Educational programs are developed based on local needs, sometimes in partnership with other agencies and volunteers.
