Study results on local meat processing and marketing highlight workshop, May 4
Results of a recent University of Nevada, Reno study on the feasibility of local meat processing and marketing will be presented Friday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Corley Ranch in Gardnerville, Nev.
The workshop will address the potential for local meat production and promotion, business structure, land availability and building contractors, as well as niche beef marketing - both natural and grass-fed.
The workshop is sponsored by University of Nevada Cooperative Extension; the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources at the University of Nevada, Reno; Western Nevada RC&D; and the USDA - Risk Management Agency.
