Cooperative Extension partners with Tractor Supply Company for 4-H fundraiser
Shoppers can donate to 4-H at Tractor Supply Company April 13-24
The Tractor Supply Company stores in Carson City and Minden will be raising money for University of Nevada Cooperative Extension 4-H programs April 13-24 in their Spring 2016 Paper Clover fundraiser. From April 13 to 24, those who stop in at one of the stores will have the option to give $1 or more to 4-H. All proceeds go to 4-H youth leadership development programs, with 70 percent collected in Nevada supporting local and Nevada 4-H programs, and 30 percent supporting national 4-H efforts that support local 4-H programs. Anyone interested in participating in the fundraiser can stop by the Carson City store, 2035 E William St., or the Minden store, 1645 State Route 88.
In Nevada, Cooperative Extension has partnered with Tractor Supply Company to host this semi-annual fundraiser since 2014. During the fall 2015 fundraiser, Tractor Supply Company raised almost $894,000 for 4-H programs across the country. Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Youth Development Programs teach youth ages 5 to 19 leadership, citizenship and life skills. Fueled by university-backed curriculum and led by trained staff and dedicated volunteers, 4-H programs engage youth in experiential, or “hands-on,” learning. Girls in 4-H are two times more likely to participate in science, engineering or computer technology programs as their peers. In addition, 4-H youth are two times more likely to plan to go to college than their peers. For more information, visit http://www.unce.unr.edu/4H/.
