Chefs for Kids Dinner & Auction set for March 29
The Chefs for Kids Dinner and Auction will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Paris Hotel and Casino. The evening honors Gae and Perry Basch for their ongoing support of the program.
The gala evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception and silent auction. Dave Courvoisier, KLAS-TV anchor, is the Master of Ceremonies. A gourmet dinner is served at 7 p.m. with Christian Kolberg conducting the live auction. The evening continues with dancing to the music of Harbor Lights.
The Chefs for Kids program is a joint venture of the American Culinary Federation Chefs of Las Vegas and University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. This program works to eliminate malnutrition and hunger through education and awareness. The nutrition education program is taught to high needs first and second grade students in Clark County. Surprisingly, many children lack the essential nutrition knowledge necessary to fight personal battles against poor eating habits. In addition to the educational program, the chefs provide monthly breakfasts to participating schools and Thanksgiving food boxes and holiday food gift cards to especially needy families in participating schools.
