Two nutrition and horticulture series scheduled
University of Nevada Cooperative Extension offers series on eating smart and living strong
City of Henderson Senior Center
University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and the City of Henderson Public Works, Parks and Recreation Department have partnered for the Eat Smart Live Strong series beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to noon.
The Eat Smart Live Strong program is a four-lesson nutrition and horticulture series that incorporates herb growing and plant care with nutrition and the use of herbs in the seasoning of recipes using commodity foods.
The classes will be held at the Downtown Henderson Senior Center located at 27 E. Texas Ave. Henderson, Nev., and are open to people ages 50+. Register online (select the Online Registration option and use activity code 674066-58)for this series or stop by any City of Henderson recreation center or senior center.
Cora Coleman Senior Center
Cooperative Extension and the Cora Coleman Senior Center have partnered for the Eat Smart Live Strong series beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 10 — 11 a.m.
The classes will be held at the Cora Coleman Senior Center located at 2100 Bonnie Lane, Las Vegas, Nev. To register for this series, contact the Center at 702-455-7617.
