Unique gardening technique classes offered
University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s workshop on Square Foot Gardening
If you have thought about establishing a garden and need some guidance, this free Square Foot Gardening class is just for you. Join University of Nevada Cooperative Extension for this 6 week series—From the Garden to the Cupboard—beginning Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9 — 11 a.m.
After a few unproductive attempts at a traditional gardening in the Valley, Rebecca Muhlestein, a local gardening enthusiast, found the Square Foot Gardening Technique. Muhlestein had so much success with this method that she wanted others to know that gardening does not have to be so hard and that anyone can do it.
Be sure to bring a copy of the Square Foot Gardening 2nd edition by Mel Bartholomew (available at the library or online).
The classes will be held at the Cooperative Extension’s offices in Building A located at 1897 N. Moapa Valley Blvd., Logandale, Nev. Registration is available online through Eventbrite.com (search for Square Food Gardening) email or call Dianna Walker at 702-397-2604 x0.
