4-H Gardening Workshops Offered

Children from ages of 8-18 are invited to join University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Gardening Basics workshops for hands-on learning and activities on November 10, 15, 17, 22, 29 and December 1. The workshops will be held at the Cooperative Extension office (1897 Moapa Valley Blvd., Logandale) from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

The cost is $10 per person and workshop topics are: composting, worm farming, seed sprouting, transplanting, and how to grow and use herbs. Included each day will be a demonstration on how to incorporate garden produce for quick and nutritious snacks.

4-H is an organization that primarily focuses on positive youth development and is open to all youth ages 5 to 19. 4-H is a community of young people across America learning leadership, citizenship, life skills and technical skills through active participation in events, projects and community service. 4-H is the largest out-of-school youth organization in the United States with over 7 million members.
