Douglas County 4-H High School Seniors can apply for our two 4-H scholarships: Carson Valley Kiwanis/4-H Scholarship ($1000) and The Norm Sharkey Memorial Scholarship (up to $500). Scholarships will be mailed to eligible 4-H high school seniors February 9, 2018. To be eligible, you must be a 4-H High School Senior, have turned in a portfolio/record book last year and currently be a member in good standing. Scholarships and all accompanying documents are due back to the 4-H office by April 4, 4:30 PM or to the Douglas County High School by deadline listed in the applications. Contact (775) 782-9960

All Douglas County Sheep, Swine or Goats members attending NJLS must bring their project animal to be weighed and tagged on March 1st at the Douglas County Fairgrounds 920 Dump Road in Gardnerville.

  • All Sheep and Goats weigh at 4:30 pm
  • All Swine weigh at 5:30 pm

You will need the date of birth of your animal.

Sheep & goats need entire scrapie tag # including all letters and numbers.

Be sure to prepare your animals for a safe and speedy weigh in, loading and unloading etc., by working with your animal preceding the weigh in.

Note: NJLS entry forms are due at the weigh in this year. Bring a check or exact cash.
