Cooperative Extension and the A.C.F. Chefs of Las Vegas want to set a record and you can help. Make plans now to ring in the new year with the largest chef’s run ever done! The Chefs for Kids 5K Run/1 Mile Fun Walk is scheduled for Saturday, January 22, 2011. Each runner/walker receives a chef’s coat and hat and goodie bag. Make plans now to attend the Make Time To Move Mini-Workshop scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2010. The Workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Lifelong Learning Center. Make Time To Move is a physical activity workshop for women.
Attendees will participate in a variety of activities that can be incorporated into their daily life. The 45-minute activities include walking/poker walk, yoga, tai chi, and body stretching. Each session will be presented three times. Weather permitting, some sessions will be held outside at the Outdoor Education Center. The19th Annual Chefs for Kids (CFK) Dinner and Auction will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Paris Hotel/Casino. The evening honors the children the CFK program reaches. The gala evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception and silent auction. Dave Courvoisier, KLAS-TV anchor, is Master of Ceremonies. A gourmet dinner, prepared under the supervision of Chef Sherman Branick, is served at 7:00 p.m. with Christian Kolberg conducting the live auction.
