As the outreach college of the University of Nevada, Reno, our faculty, staff and volunteers extend unbiased, research-based knowledge from the University to residents of southern Nevada.
The Southern Area is comprised of the Las Vegas Office (Clark County); Laughlin office (Southern Clark County); Logandale office (Northeast Clark County); Caliente office (Lincoln County); Pahrump office (Southern Nye County); Tonopah office (Northern Nye/Esmeralda Counties); and Ely office (White Pine County). The Southern Area’s main office is a 43,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility situated on 9.5 acres in Las Vegas, called the Lifelong Learning Center (LLLC).
Cooperative Extension’s Southern Area has 10 faculty members and a support staff of 80. More than 50 faculty programs offer education, training and instruction in children, youth & families (CYF); heath & nutrition (H&N); and water, horticulture, economics & environment (WHEE). Faculty and staff are also willing to speak to your organization regarding any number of topics.
