Clipart of a carton of chocolate milk with a straw.Chocolate milk still has the same healthy nutrients, like calcium, protein, vitamin D, potassium, and magnesium, that white milk has.

But it has added sugar.

Added sugars give us extra calories that can lead to weight gain.

Chocolate milk can be part of a healthy diet, but if your child likes white milk, serve that most of the time and chocolate milk occasionally.

When you serve chocolate milk, choose fat-free or 1% chocolate milk.
