Susan Lednicky was recognized as an Honorary Life Member of the ACF Chefs Las Vegas for her outstanding dedication to the organization and Chefs for Kids program. In Lednicky’s position as Program Officer for the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and the Chefs for Kids program, a partnership between Cooperative Extension and ACF Chefs Las Vegas, her involvement for the past 20 years has been invaluable in the organizations success both on the teaching side as well as the coordination of fundraisers.

 Lednicky is the Chairwoman of the Annual Chefs for Kids Dinner & Auction, the major fundraising event for the organization. Her tireless energy and warm personality always ensures great success. Visit www.chefsforkids.org.

 

The Master Gardeners of Southern Nevada held their annual Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Luncheon on Saturday, May 31 at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Lifelong Learning Center. During the past year, the Master Gardeners have volunteered 36,568 hours (with a value of $796,817) on over 30 community projects across the Las Vegas valley. Master Gardeners answer questions on the Home Gardening Help Line (702-257-5555), staff information booths at Farmers Markets, help at community gardens and teach free gardening classes at Acacia Park and other community venues.
