Master Gardener LogoClark County Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will offer a series of free classes at Acacia Park in conjunction with the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. All classes will be taught by Master Gardener instructors and begin at 9 a.m. The line-up includes:

  • October 13, Safe and Sound Insect Control – You do not need harmful chemicals to control garden and yard pests.  Nevada Cooperative Extension Master Gardener instructor will show you insect control that is safe for the whole family.  Using everyday household items we will show how to make traps, sprays, and repellents.  So get the upper hand on pests.
  • October 20, Backyard Habitat & Patio Conversation – From composting to attracting birds and butterflies to your patio, join a Southern Nevada Cooperative Extension Certified Master Gardener to learn about backyard conservation.  It will transform your backyard into a haven for birds, butterflies and other wildlife using edible landscape ideas.  Not only is this good for the environment but it will also make your living space more attractive and enjoyable.
  • October 27, Tricks & Treats (Plant Projects for Kids) – Join Southern Nevada Cooperative Extension certified Master Gardeners as they introduce a few fun plant projects for kids of all ages (some in this class and ideas for other projects to last through the cold winter months).
