Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will offer a series of free classes at Acacia Park in conjunction with the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. All classes will be taught by Master Gardener instructors and begin at 9 a.m. The line-up includes:

  • April 28, Gardening in Small Spaces / Container Gardening – Optimize your growing potential and beautify those small porches, patios, and decks through the creative use of containers.  Nevada Cooperative Extension certified Master Gardeners will bring some exciting new ideas for you to explore.
  • May 5, Food Preservation – Your garden has been bountiful and you have given away all that your friends and neighbors can use.  What do you do now?  Learn how to preserve what your garden has grown in a way that you can enjoy it in later months.
  • May 19, Why Don’t Things Grow Here? – In this class Master Gardeners who are certified by Nevada Cooperative Extension will explore with you the most common reasons for plant failure here in the desert southwest.
  • June 2, Indoor Plant Care – Learn from a certified Nevada Cooperative Extension Master Gardener how to keep your indoor plants healthy and vibrant. Also, bring your challenges and they will be evaluated so your house will become a green environment.
