University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will offer a series of free classes at Acacia Park in conjunction with the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. All classes will be taught by Master Gardener instructors and begin at 9 a.m. The line-up includes:
- October 8, Composting—What is composting and how can it help with home landscapes? Is it difficult? Will it require a lot of time? Does it take a special machine or tub? Come and learn from the Master Gardeners all about composting and how it can benefit you and your landscape.
- October 15, Container Gardening—How can plants survive the cold of winter and heat of summer? It would be nice to have a garden, but there is so little space in your yard. Master Gardeners will discuss how container gardening allows you to have a garden year round and the flexibility to change your garden to fit the seasons. It will also tell you how to create and make a container garden.
- October 29, Trick & Treats—Our Master Gardeners have a few trick (and treats) up their sleeves as they introduce kids to a few fun and festive plant projects as the Halloween Holiday approaches.
