Cooperative Extension’s purpose is to be the outreach college that extends knowledge from the Universityof Nevada — and other land-grant universities — to local communities to address issues. We are a federal-state-county partnership with 19 offices throughout the state. Our more than 200 personnel — with the help of volunteers— deliver non-degree educational programs based on local needs. In 2009, UNCE made more than 550,000 face-to-face contacts with communitycitizens. Our program areas cover Agriculture, Horticulture, Economics & Environment issues; Health and Nutrition education; and Children, Youth and Family development. There are also over 1,000 Cooperative Extension publications available to you on-line at If you would like a copy of the Southern Area program guide, please click here!
