If you are a senior in high school this year and a current 4-H member, then you may be eligible to apply for this year’s 4-H Scholarship. Applications are available at the Extension Office or by e-mailing your request for the application to kevanc@unce.unr.edu. Applications are due to the Extension Office by October 12th.
The scholarship committee will base their decision on the 4-H member’s leadership, community service, citizenship, and participation on a club, county, state, and national level. For younger members, this is something to set as a goal for your future.

Guess what time it is? It is time to organize your pictures from the 2018 4-H year and send them to Candie for the Achievement Night Slide Show. All clubs are asked to submit at least 6-8 pictures (more if you would like) of their club’s activities. Please submit pictures highlighting your year’s activities, not pictures of winning awards at events. Please have pictures with captions to Candie by Nov. 9, 2018.

The National Youth Summit Series brings together some of the best and brightest students to focus on maker, agri-science, healthy living, and photography. Designed for high school students (grades 9 – 12), the Summits provide opportunities to learn technical skills, participate in hands-on activities, workshops, and engage with nationally-recognized leaders. In school year 2015-2016 surveys show up to a 47% increase in the number of students who felt after attending a Summit they were more aware of areas of study they could pursue in college relating to their Summit subject matter. The National Youth Summit Series aims to teach lessons students can use for the betterment of their personal lives and communities. Each Summit is held at the National 4-H Center near Washington, D.C. Visit https://4hcenter.org/tours-programs/national-youth-summits/ for more information. Summit dates:

  • Agri-Science January 10-13, 2019
